Maximum Breathlessness Test

This test will give you feedback about your upper limits of tolerance for breathlessness. The maximum degree of breathlessness that you can tolerate during intense physical exercise and sports. It is a very simple test. Take a normal inhale through the nose and a normal exhale through the nose. Pinch your nose, hold your breath and start walking at a normal pace. Count the maximum number of steps that you can take while holding your breath. In this test the idea is to hold the breath for as long as possible. The table on the bottom left should give you a good indication as to how your BOLT score corresponds with this test.
